This policy is to encourage UKRF Management Committee, UKRF staff, UKRF Members to show respect, understanding and embrace the diversity of difference, and for each employee, volunteer and member to feel respected and able to give their best.
It is within our best interest to promote diversity and eliminate unlawful discrimination in line with the UKRF EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES STATEMENT.
AIM OF POLICY
UK Reiki Federation is committed to encouraging a supportive and inclusive culture amongst its membership body, for Reiki interested people and amongst the volunteers and workforce.
The aim is for THE UKRF Management Committee, UKRF staff, UKRF Members to be representative of all sections of society.
This policy reinforces our commitment to providing equality and fairness to all in our employment, for our members, Management Committee and for all Reiki interested people.
CONDUCT
UKRF will not provide and does not advocate for less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, caring responsibilities, disability, family situation, gender expression, gender identity, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race including ethnic origin, colour, nationality and national origin, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, socio-economic background or the effects of the menopause.
UK REIKI FEDERATION TERMS & CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP cites the following under conduct:
The UKRF expects all of its members in all categories of membership, employees and volunteers to ensure that any interaction with the UKRF Management Committee, UKRF staff, UKRF Members, health professionals and the general public are always respectful, courteous, honest, non-discriminatory and are duly diligent.
- UKRF expects all Management Committee, UKRF members, employees and volunteers to respect the religious, spiritual, political and social views of all individuals regardless of their colour, race, creed, gender or sexual orientation.
OUR COMMITMENTS
- When UKRF selects candidates for employment, promotion, training, or any other benefit, it will be based on their aptitude and ability.
- All UKRF Management Committee, UKRF staff, UKRF Members will be given help and encouragement to develop their full potential and utilise their unique talents.
- To create an environment in which individual differences and the contributions of all UKRF Management Committee, UKRF staff, UKRF Members are recognised and valued.

- To encourage UKRF Management Committee, UKRF staff, UKRF Members to treat everyone with dignity and respect.
- To regularly review all our UKRF membership and employment practices and procedures so that fairness is maintained at all times.
- Will inform all UKRF Management Committee, UKRF staff, UKRF Members that an equality and diversity policy is in operation and that they are obligated to comply with its requirements and promote fairness in the workplace.
- The policy will also be drawn to the attention of all members, funding agencies, stakeholders, customers, learners, and job applicants.
Dealing with Complaints
The Management Committee will take complaints of discrimination and harassment on the grounds of discrimination very seriously.
The UKRF will:
- investigate complaints and provide opportunities for the person making the complaint to speak in a safe environment about their experience.
- Review complaints in line with the UKRF Complaints Policy and Procedures.
Review
Our policy will be monitored and reviewed annually to ensure that equality and diversity is continually promoted by the UKRF.
This policy is fully supported by and has been agreed with the Management Committee.
