EDUCATION & TRAINING
QUALITY, PROFESSIONALISM AND BEST PRACTICE FOR REIKISince 1999, we have worked extensively on promoting Reiki and best practice for practitioners, with UK Reiki Federation representatives having been continuously involved with the various groups which have been working on revised standards for training of professional practitioners, over many years. One of the aims in promoting good practice is to improve the acceptance of Reiki as a viable tool to be used within the NHS.
Following consultation in 2007/2008, a revision of the National Occupational Standards for Complementary and Natural Healthcare was carried out, and in 2009 the finally approved standards were published. Full details of the standards are available through Skills for Health, whose website is www.skillsforhealth.org.uk. Further information, and copy of the standards, is given on the page on Core Curriculum for Reiki, and we also provide more detailed information on teaching requirements (please note: this is a members only service).
The Education Team of the UK Reiki Federation is made up of individuals who are not only qualified Reiki Teachers, but the majority also hold either formal Teacher Qualifications or Assessor Qualifications, or both.
NATIONAL OCCUPATIONAL STANDARDS (NOS)
These are statements of competence and are written to measure outcomes. National Occupational Standards describe good practice.
REIKI CORE CURRICULUM
The Reiki Core Curriculum (updated August 2017) provides a structured framework for developing courses. For Reiki courses to received accreditation from us they must reflect both the National Occupational Standards (NOS) and the Reiki Core Curriculum.
CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) FOR REIKI
Continuing Professional Development is the process of tracking and logging the skills, knowledge and experience that practitioners gain formally and informally during their working life. It forms a record of what you learn, experience and then apply.

COURSE APPRAISAL & ACCREDITATION
Reiki teachers can get their own Reiki practitioner or teacher courses reviewed and assessed by the UK Reiki Federation for inclusion on our Directory of Adccredited Reiki Courses.
