Bringing our members together online

by Jacinta Faulkner
When people think about events, they often picture the speaker, the presentation or the topic being discussed. Yet the true value of any event is something much deeper. It’s the conversations that continue afterwards, the confidence gained from learning something new, the friendships formed, and the quiet reassurance that wherever we are on our Reiki journey, we are never walking it alone.
That sense of connection sits at the heart of everything we do within the UK Reiki Federation Events Team.

This year has been one of growth and exciting change. What began as a small volunteer team has evolved into a dedicated group of six members, each bringing their own skills, enthusiasm and generosity.

Like every volunteer across the Federation, we give our time because we believe in the power of community and in creating opportunities for Reiki practitioners to learn, connect and support one another.

So, what is involved in every online event? There are conversations with speakers, planning meetings, scheduling, marketing, technical rehearsals and plenty of problem-solving when technology decides to have a mind of its own! There are moments of nervousness before going live, but there is also a wonderful sense of trust.

We remind ourselves that we are among fellow Reiki practitioners, sharing a common purpose and a shared passion for helping others grow.

One of the greatest pleasures has been working with inspiring guest speakers and facilitators, alongside continuing our much-loved community events such as Reiki Shares, Reset Meditation and Healing Circles. These regular gatherings remain the heartbeat of our programme, creating welcoming spaces where members can pause, reflect and reconnect.

And perhaps the most exciting development has been listening to you.

Recently we invited members to tell us what they value most from UKRF events. The response was both encouraging and insightful. Rather than identifying one single priority, members told us they value the whole experience: inspiring speakers, engaging topics, opportunities to connect with fellow practitioners, accessible online formats and continuing professional development. Most importantly, your feedback is shaping our future programme.

As a result, alongside our established events, you’ll begin to see more interactive workshops and hands-on learning experiences, offering different ways to deepen your practice, build confidence and connect with others. We recognise that everyone learns differently, and we want our events to reflect the richness and diversity of our Reiki community.

Looking back over the past few months, what stands out most isn’t the number of events we’ve delivered, but the people. Watching new volunteers grow into confident hosts, seeing speakers finish their sessions inspired by the warmth of our members, reading your generous feedback, and witnessing new friendships form has been a privilege.

The dedication and enthusiasm of everyone involved has been genuinely contagious.

Our hope for the coming year is simple: that every member leaves our events feeling more connected to themselves, more confident in their Reiki practice and more deeply connected to our community. We want everyone to know that they don’t have to walk their Reiki journey alone.

Thank you for being part of the UK Reiki Federation community. Your participation, encouragement and support are what make our community thrive. Whether you join us for one event or many, every conversation, every shared experience and every connection strengthens the community we are building together. We look forward to welcoming you to an event soon.
